Icy Floodwaters

We had a major snow melt off a couple of weeks ago, then more snow and freezing temperatures. New Years Day I trudged out a couple of miles through knee deep snow to see what sort of ice I could find along the Paw-Paw river, now that the waters were receding.

These tree branches dipped in-and-out-in-and-out of the river making these unusual and beautiful ice formations.

These looked like queen anne's lace, they were about 2-3 feet tall. The ice was so lacey...

Now I'm thinking they look like water fountains.

The large trees along the banks were all wearing cute little ice tutus, it was lovely.
